MBK Volunteers at the Food Bank of Western Mass
Since 1982, The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts has been feeding our neighbors in need and leading the community to end hunger. They distribute food to our members in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties.
On August 14, 2026, team leaders Carolyn Bourgoin and Fran Murphy, organized a group of professionals from MBK to assist the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts. They helped sort and organize frozen meat and conduct quality-control checks before it was distributed to the various food pantries served by the organization. Items that did not pass quality-control checks were donated to a local zoo for use in animal meals, ensuring that no food went to waste. Congratulations to Carolyn Bourgoin, Fran Murphy, Edmund Keyes III, Ryan Sabin, Chelsea Russell, Cheryl Fitzgerald, JoLynn Wells, and Katrina Arona for sorting 3,400 pounds of frozen meat. You lead by example and demonstrate the importance of investing in our local communities.
