Meyers Brothers Kalicka P.C.(MBK), a regional public accounting firm based in Holyoke, MA, is accepting applications for its 2027 Summer Internship. Requirements include pursuit of B.S. in Accounting and the completion of junior-year accountancy (including 3+1 Sophomores who have completed VITA or similar) prerequisites by the time of the internship. Current graduate students are also strongly encouraged to apply.
Pay range: $22-$25
Job Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day audit engagement activities for clients across various industries.
- Document, validate, test, and assess key areas of audit engagements.
- Identify and communicate accounting and auditing matters to associates, managers, and partners.
- Support client relationships through clear communication, responsiveness, and timely follow-through.
- Participate in firm training and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with segments of financial statement engagements, including audits, reviews, and compilations.
- Develop familiarity with GAAP, GAAS, accounting systems, and workpaper preparation.
- Strengthen research techniques and apply findings to engagement work.
- Provide direct client contact and support throughout engagement activities.
- Learn directly from senior team members to build technical knowledge and professional skills.
Job Qualifications
Pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required; pursuit of MST, MSA or other industry-related graduate degree is a plus!
Excellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
Completion of Junior-Year Accountancy Prerequisites by June 1, 2027
A demonstrated ability to remain organized and prioritize under time-sensitive and challenging conditions
Working towards 150 Credit Hours (As required for the CPA Exam) or demonstrated pursuit of 150 credit hours is a plus!
Strong problem-solving, logic and reasoning capabilities
Use of Microsoft Excel
Minimum of 3.0 GPA
