Elise Puza, CPA, Manager
Elise Puza, CPA, Manager

Elise Puza, from Westfield, MA has been practicing public accounting since 2017. She has seven years of experience in public accounting, including assurance and taxation services. Prior to working in public accounting, she worked in private, corporate accounting for five years. She brings a diverse and well-rounded expertise across multiple industries including real estate, manufacturing, health care, and estate and trusts. 

 

Elise states, "I look forward to taking on new challenges and opportunities that contribute to the firm’s growth and to help our clients with their accounting and tax needs."


She holds both a B.S. in Business Management with a Concentration in Accounting and a Master’s in Accounting from Westfield State University. Elise is a certified public accountant licensed in Massachusetts. Additionally, she is an active member of CPAmerica and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPA).

Lauren Foley, Supervisor

Lauren started her journey with accounting at Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C. in 2020, she has since been promoted to supervisor. She focuses on commercial and individual tax returns as well as compilation and review engagements.  

 

In her new role as a supervisor, she states “I am most excited for the opportunity to have more responsibilities within the firm and to take on a greater role at the company as a mentor. My goal is to continue to meet our clients' expectations, be a resource to them and get to know them on a personal level. I also want to share the knowledge that I have gained over the last couple of years. My goal is to be an asset to the team and our clients.” 

 

Lauren graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Accounting. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPA). 

Joanne Haley, Supervisor
Joanne Haley, Supervisor

Joanne has been practicing public accounting since 1987, specializing in 401k audits and medical practices. She has extensive experience across various accounting domains, including reviews, compilations, financial statement preparation, corporate and partnership tax returns, and non-profit audits. Joanne prioritizes client service by asking insightful questions to uncover their specific concerns and needs. 


In her role as a supervisor, she sees the position as an opportunity to be an educator, guide, and remain committed to helping clients achieve optimal business outcomes through best practices and targeted process improvements. 

 

Joanne holds a B.S. in Management from Westfield State University. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPA). 

 

Keara King, Supervisor
Keara King, Supervisor

Keara began her career with Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C. as a tax intern in January of 2020 and has grown with the firm for the past six years. In addition to being a valued member of the tax department, Keara is a leader in the firm for various community service and corporate culture initiatives. 

  

Keara has been promoted to supervisor in Meyers Brothers Kalicka's taxation department. She is expanding her role both within the department and with clients. She continues to look forward to overseeing the MBK tax internship training program, guiding clients through year-round tax planning, and ensuring they are prepared for filing deadlines. She enjoys mentoring students and associates, helping to develop their technical and professional skills to prepare for the accounting industry. 

  

Keara received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Sports management from Elms College. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPA). 

Karen Korpinen, CPA, Supervisor
Karen Korpinen, CPA, Supervisor

Karen has been practicing public accounting at MBK since 2022. Although she embarked on a career in public accounting recently, Karen brings a wealth of experience from her tenure on the flip side of the desk. Her background is diverse, encompassing various roles within not-for-profit organizations, municipalities, and higher education.  

 

In her new role as supervisor, Karen shares she is most excited to continue working with her engagements, broadening her expertise, and sharing what she has learned over the last four years in public accounting to new hires, interns, and students pursuing a career in the accounting industry.  

 

She also holds master’s degrees in both Business Administration and Accounting, equipping her with a broad and deep understanding of the financial landscape. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPA). 

Mia McDonald, CPA, Supervisor
Mia McDonald, CPA, Supervisor

In 2021, Mia's career in public accounting began when she joined MBK's audit and accounting department as an intern.  She brings a diverse skillset with strong focuses on Not‑for‑Profit, Employee Benefit Plans, Manufacturing, and Wholesale & Distribution engagements. Mia is also the leader of the Municipal Utility Audit Division.


On her new role as supervisor, Mia states: “I am so excited to continue working directly with clients and developing long-term relationships. I can't wait to tackle new challenges and all of the personal and professional growth opportunities that will come with this position!" 

  

Mia became a CPA in 2025 and holds a bachelor's degrees in Economics and Business Management with a minor in mathematics and a concentration in accounting. She also holds her Master of Science in Accounting from Westfield State University. As one of the two firm ambassadors for Massachusetts Society of CPAs, Mia remains engaged with the broader accounting community, staying updated on industry developments and best practices.

Mila Renkas, Supervisor

Lyudmila (Mila) has been promoted to supervisor in Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C.’s audit and accounting department. She is recognized for her dependability and collaborative approach, earning the trust of clients through her tailored solutions and prompt responses to inquiries.  

 

As she enters her new role as supervisor, she shares she is ready to take on more of a leadership role at the firm. While continuing to deepen her relationships with her engagements, she is actively pursing her CPA license. Mila looks forward to providing her teams and clients with thoughtful guidance, strong collaboration, and high-quality service. 

 

Mila holds a B.S. in Accounting and Information Systems from Elms College and a M.S. in Accounting from Westfield State University. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPA). 

Jacob Bear, Senior Associate
Jacob Bear, Senior Associate

Jacob was promoted to senior associate in Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C.’s taxation department. Joining the firm in 2024, Jacob brings a fresh perspective to his engagements and believes customer service starts with listening to our clients’ unique needs so that he can better understand their business and help them achieve their goals. His expertise lies in real estate, not-for-profits, individuals, and passthrough entities.  He looks forward to expanding his experience in his new role.   

 

In his new role as senior associate, Jacob expresses he is most excited to have the opportunity to share his experience with new staff and interns, along with building relationships with MBK's clients. 

 

Jacob received his Master’s in Accounting from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He is also a member of CPAmerica and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPA). 

Taylor Sawicki, Senior Associate
Taylor Sawicki, Senior Associate

Taylor has been a valuable member of the MBK team since 2022.  She works on a diverse range of engagements including not-for-profit, employee benefit plans, and wholesale and distribution engagements. She believes that friendly and timely communication is essential to providing quality customer service.  

 

Regarding her new role as a senior associate, she states “I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow in this role. I look forward to building deeper relationships, supporting new team members, and continuing to develop my expertise.” 

 

Taylor holds a B.S. in Accounting from Western New England University. She is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPA). 

Justin Szwajkowski, Senior Associate
Justin Szwajkowksi, Senior Associate

Justin specializes in not-for-profit, commercial, and real estate industries, he brings tax experience and strengths in work ethic, organization, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Justin emphasizes clear communication, timely solutions, and smooth processes for all involved.  

 

In his new role as a senior associate, he states “I am looking forward to taking on a leadership role with engagements that I have worked on for a few years. Additionally, I am excited to mentor and support new hires and interns as they begin their career with the firm.”  

 

He holds both a B.S. in Accounting from Elms College and a Master’s in Accounting from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Justin is an active member of CPAmerica and the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants (MassCPA).
